![](/files/vmgKPvPQZR152iRKhI6v)

{% hint style="warning" %}
This `&tips` option is a guest help-screen. It is not related to Ninja Backer tipping. For tipping, use `&tip`/`&tipsid` and `&showtips`.
{% endhint %}

## Customize Which Tips Show

By default, `&tips` shows the default guest tips. You can optionally pass a comma-separated list to show only specific tips:

```
https://vdo.ninja/?room=demo&tips=1,2,3
```

Tip IDs:

1. Device is powered (default)
2. Connection is hardwired instead of Wi-Fi (default)
3. Using headphones/earphones (default)
4. Close other video/calling apps
5. Use a quiet room
6. Face a light source

When `&tips` has no list, only the default tips are shown. Tips not listed in the URL are hidden.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.vdo.ninja/advanced-settings/setup-parameters/tips.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
