VDO.Ninja Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 8, 2025 Supersedes: November 18, 2023
Welcome to VDO.Ninja. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy and Copyright Policy.
1) Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using VDO.Ninja (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to any policies referenced here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2) What the Service Is (and Isn’t)
Real-time P2P tool. VDO.Ninja enables peer-to-peer video/audio/text connections for live production. We are not a hosting provider and we do not store your communications after a session ends.
Relays & cross-border traffic. To keep connections reliable, traffic may route through TURN and/or SFU relays that can be located in multiple countries and are typically stateless.
Cloudflare. We front the Service with Cloudflare for DDoS/bot protection and performance. Cloudflare receives and logs technical request data such as IP address, full request URL (including query parameters), User-Agent/browser details, country/region, referrer, and security/performance signals. Cloudflare may set security cookies/tokens. Cloudflare keeps its own logs under its own policies; we do not control them.
Limited metadata by us. We may process minimal technical metadata (e.g., IPs, timestamps, diagnostics) to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to handle abuse; we may preserve incident-related logs when legally required. See our Privacy Policy for details.
No emergency services. The Service does not provide access to emergency services.
3) Eligibility & Basic Responsibilities
Age. The Service is intended for individuals 16 years of age or older. If you are under 16, do not use the Service.
No accounts / identity. We generally do not operate user accounts and do not verify participant identity.
Keep links secret. Treat room names, stream IDs, passwords, and tokens as secrets; you are responsible for access you share. Obtain any consents required for recording or participation.
4) Your Content
You are solely responsible for the content you transmit or make available through the Service and for having the rights/consents to do so. We do not claim ownership of your content.
5) Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to:
Engage in or facilitate child sexual exploitation, grooming/enticement, or sexualize/attempt to contact minors.
Share/request illegal content (including CSAM), harass, threaten, dox, or incite violence.
Infringe others’ intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
Commit fraud, phishing, spam, or distribute malware/viruses.
Attack, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service or attempt to bypass security.
6) Safety & Reporting (Plain)
We do not proactively monitor user communications.
We may act on reports or clear evidence of harm and take reasonable steps within our control—for example, disabling links we control, blocking IPs via Cloudflare if we can deduce them, or geofencing.
Child safety: Do not send us illegal media. If you have such evidence, report it to your national hotline (e.g., Cybertip.ca in Canada or NCMEC CyberTipline in the U.S.) and share the report number with us. Where appropriate or required by law, we may preserve relevant logs and report suspected child exploitation to hotlines/authorities.
Because connections are peer-to-peer, we cannot forcibly end calls already in progress on devices we do not control.
7) Intellectual Property
The Service (software we host, brand, and site content) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Open-source components are provided under their respective licenses.
8) Third-Party Services
Some features integrate third-party services (e.g., Discord, YouTube, Google services, cloud storage, Meshcast). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their parts of your workflow. We are not responsible for third-party services.
9) Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” We make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, security, or error-free operation. Network conditions, device/browser choices, and third-party services may affect your results.
10) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages; or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service or third-party conduct/content—even if advised of the possibility of such damages. In any case, our total liability will not exceed USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in that case, the limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.
11) Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the provider and our affiliates, officers, directors, and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12) Access Restriction & Operational Limits
We may restrict or block access to parts of the Service using the tools available to us (including disabling or changing links we control; blocking IPs/ranges/ASNs; rate-limiting; or geofencing), including where required by law or to protect users or the Service. We do not guarantee any particular action will prevent all access, and we cannot remove content from or terminate peer-to-peer calls running on third-party devices.
13) Changes to the Service and to these Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will update the effective date and post a notice on the site. Continued use after the new effective date constitutes acceptance.
14) Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, for any dispute not subject to a different mandatory forum.
15) Severability; No Waiver
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
16) Contact
